Tesla Model 3: Fluids and Capacities

Fluids

Component / System Description
Air Conditioning Depending on its intended sales region, the air conditioning system is filled with R134a or R1234yf refrigerant.
  • 1012403-00-B, REFRIGERANT, R134a
  • 2006643-00-A, REFRIGERANT, R1234yf

If oil needs to be added to the air conditioning system, use only POE ND-11 (part number 1023305-00-A), or equivalent.

Caution: Do not mix different types of A/C system oil.

Coolant The cooling system contains an ethylene glycol (phosphate and nitrate free) based coolant.
  • 1029320-00-A, ETHYLENE GLYCOL COOLANT - 50/50 MIX - 1 Gallon
  • 1061466-00-A, ETHYLENE GLYCOL COOLANT - 50/50 MIX - 55 Gallon Drum

The overall coolant concentration should not fall below 50% by volume to make sure that the anti-corrosion properties of the coolant are maintained.

Coolant concentrations greater than 60% are not recommended as cooling efficiency will be impaired.

Tesla G-48 coolant is a pre-mixed 50/50 solution of coolant and water. The coolant is ready to use. Do not add water.

Caution: Do not top-up or refill the cooling system with any other type of coolant.

Brake Fluid DOT 3. Dow 372LB (part number 1060099-00-A) is recommended to prevent squeaking from the master cylinder as the brakes are applied.

Caution: Only use new fluid from sealed containers.

Electrical Joint Compound Penetrox A-13 electrical joint compound (part number 1089974-00-A).
Transmission Fluid ATF-9. SK Lubricant 422313 (part number 1135241-00-A) is used for both front and rear drive units.
Windshield Washer Fluid Tesla windshield washer fluid contains 40% Methanol.
  • 6005944-00-A, WINDOW WASHER FLUID, NEXEO - 1 Gallon
  • 1061464-00-A, WINDOW WASHER FLUID, NEXEO - 55 Gallon Drum
