Tesla Model 3: Link - Fore - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

SPECIAL TOOLS

Tool, Spring Compressor, Hook, Model 3 (1135103-00-A)

Remove

  1. Remove the rear subframe assembly. See Subframe Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).

Link - Fore - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

  1. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the knuckle.

Link - Fore - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

  1. With an assistant, remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the subframe.
  2. Remove the LH rear upper fore link from the vehicle

Install

  1. With an assistant, hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the subframe.
  2. With an assistant, hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the knuckle.

Note: The tightening of the LH rear upper fore link bolts will take place during the installation of the rear subframe assembly onto the vehicle.

  1. Install the rear subframe assembly. See Subframe Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).

     Toe Link - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

      Remove Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).

    Remove Remove the trunk lid trim. See Trim - Lid - Trunk (Remove and Replace). Disconnect the electrical connector from the license plate light. Push the license plate light towards the RH of the vehicle to compress the clip, and then compress the clip on the other side of the light

     General Fitting Instructions

    Component Removal Whenever possible, clean components and surrounding area before removal. Cap off openings exposed by component removal. Immediately seal fuel, oil, or hydraulic lines when apertures are exposed; use plastic caps or plugs to prevent loss of fluid and ingress of dirt. Clo
